Overall, this is a wonderfully rich, spicy bourbon with a fruity and distinctly mocha-like finish that really works. Few things in life compare to the joy of drinking the best whiskey on the planet. The finish is warm with just a hint of sweetness and a good amount of coffee character. Rules and Procedure — This is a tasting of bourbons, with a strict price limit of $15 or less for a 750 ml bottle. Vital Stats: This spirit is 86.8 proof, 43.4% alcohol by volume and retails for $42. 82/100 .

We decided after tasting the bourbon to take a break to give my palate a rest. At $50 for 750ml it’s worth picking up.
The barrels are made from Minnesota oak which has a shorter growth season and tighter grain than other types of oak. Unfortunately, I'm not a booze expert.
