Stage Racing is fun and challenging. It calls the holiday paradise that is tropical North Queensland home and its stage plan from Cairns to Port Douglas is unique – every day is different! Stage 1 is the longest and arguably the most challenging of the race at 71 kilometres in length with 1 400 meters of climbing – but the views over the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains more than make up for any difficulties.
