Great news.. this worked. Plug the guitar dongles directly into the console and plug the other peripherals (drums or microphone) into the open guitar dongle ports. Yeah you were right.. rockband doesnt ignore the inputs while guitar hero does.. so that was the problem. Aha I just realized Rock Band guitars are different from Guitar Hero guitars, srry about that.
